Thanks and congratulations to Caitlin Lumber for quick learning and showmanship there is no stopping this young lady either. Owner George Jeffreys is thrilled. Kudos to all!
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the very sudden loss of Diva, Can CH Candyland I Get Around. It's hard to imagine that just two days ago she was running and playing with her grandkids in the yard, and today I had to say goodbye. She was the undisputed grand dame of Tokabout, and will be missed greatly. Her legacy lives on in her daughters, granddaughters and great-granddaughters. Everyday I see so much of her in them. Her daughter Royal Star produced my group of seven litter that had so much success, and one of Royal Stars daughters has produced an amazing litter herself with five Canadian champions.
Tokabout good for your Ego! Congratulations to George Jeffries on his new partner Ego, 'Tokabout Me Being XLNT'. Here they are strutting their stuff at the Credit Valley Kennel & Obedience Club show for the first time. Look for this duo in 2015! This special boy has found the perfect fit and we know they will accomplish great things together.

Elora Gorge Kennel Club - This was a fantastic weekend for the Tokabout dogs, what a way to end the year. Our brace team CH Tokabout Luna C at Lewenhart & CH Tokabout Hell's Fall from Grace took best Brace in Breed all three days running. The blue girls had a blast strutting their stuff in front of an appreciative audience. CH Tokabout Hells fall from Grace (Gracie) went Best of Opposite Sex on Friday and Saturday, gaining points toward her Grand Championship. Gracie's pups put in an XLNT showing as well. Axel took a point as Winner's dog, his brother Ego taking reserve on the Friday. Sunday saw Elvis take Reserve Winner's dog, and Sexy take Best of Opposite Sex on her last day in Canada. Tokabout Afghans is proud to have been part of the OVC Pet Trust Campaign to raise funds to combat cancer in our companion animals. It's called 'Sing for the Cure'. Our beautiful Cheyanne, Tokabout Anne's Angel, had a great time filming this. It's a worthwhile cause, as cancer kills on average 1 in 4 dogs today.

This weekend we also took four of the puppies out to their very first baby puppy classes. On Saturday it was all about Elvis, and on Sunday Effie decided to show those boys how it's done. ;-) Elvis, Effie, Marc, and Ego all did very well their first time out and gave both the judges and spectators something to 'Tokabout'.
UKC Top Ten - UKC, AM & CAN CH. Tokabout Daredevil wins Top Ten BOB under respected Judge Charles Scott, making him the #1 Afghan in the UKC for a second year running. Mr. Scott also awarded Dare his Semi-Final placement, sending him to the Best in Top Ten Competition. A fantastic showing for Dare, who was handled by his proud dad Scott Schmitt. On June 15th, Dare also received a Group 1st, under judge Timothy Catterson.
We had a blast at the Breeder's Classic and entered two teams. It was a great experience for the youngsters, letting Storm, Sizzle, Zeva & Zelda spend time in ring with a lot of dogs. Dare, Gracie, & Luna were the calm cool veterans and showed the kids how it's done. It was a great opportunity to showcase the breed and expose the public to the variety in both color and coat that exists in our breed.
CH Tokabout Steel N My Heart ( Storm), Tokabout Sizzle N Silver (Sizzle), & Tokabout A Daredevil (Dare)
This year's Afghan Hound Canadian National Specialty was held in Cornwall. It was a beautiful site near the water and we had a wonderful four days of showing with the Tokabout Gang. Sizzle picked up a major win early on the week and Dare took a Group 4 win the day before the Specialty. On the big day our very own Tokabout Onyx N Silver Pixietail took Winner's Bitch under Michael Canalizo from the US, picking up a five point major. Gracie & Luna took Brace and Leo took Best Veteran. The King of Tokabout looked regal and showed everyone that even at 12 years old he still was one of the best around.
